We’re halfway to St. Patrick’s Day! Well, halfway through our “30 Days of Irish Baseball” countdown to St. Patrick’s Day. Today, we’re taking a look at Liam Shier’s visit to America in 2014. Liam – who lives in Ashbourne, County Meath – spent one week in America, playing and training in New York and Rhode Island.
Liam’s trip was part of the Baseball United Foundation’s Baseball Exchange program.
During his time in the USA, Liam trained at Hardball Training Center in NY, received instruction from great coaches like former Irish National Baseball Team player Brian Smith, and Chicago White Sox scout John Tumminia. He even got a chance to meet former MLB great Sean Casey at MLB Network!
Liam also played with the Slocum Baseball Club in Rhode Island! Check out the news clip below:
