The Irish Junior National Baseball Team

The Irish Junior National Baseball Team roster includes players from County Meath and County Wicklow in Ireland, as well as players from New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, California, and New Hampshire. All players are Irish citizens. The team will be competing in the 2017 18U European Championship Qualifiers in Zurich, Switzerland this summer. The tournament takes place the week of July 10-15.

Aidan Mehigan is a 1B/OF/P from Natick, Massachusetts. Aidan plays for Natick High School.

IRISH CITIZENSHIP: Both of Aidan’s parents are from Bandon, County Cork.

FAST FACTS: Aidan’s uncle, Steve Coronella, played for the Greystones Mariners, the first baseball club in Ireland… Aidan’s cousin Brian Coronella was a member of a 12U Irish Little League team that came to America in 2010… Aidan last visited Ireland in August 2016… Aidan’s favorite MLB team is the Boston Red Sox and his favorite player is Mookie Betts… Aidan’s high school baseball coach is former Irish National Team player Jason Hoye.
