The Irish Junior National Baseball Team

The Irish Junior National Baseball Team roster includes players from County Meath and County Wicklow in Ireland, as well as players from New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, California, and New Hampshire. All players are Irish citizens. The team will be competing in the 2017 18U European Championship Qualifiers in Zurich, Switzerland this summer. The tournament takes place the week of July 10-15.

Patrick Carey is a P/3B from New York City, NY. He plays for Regis High School in NYC.

IRISH CITIZENSHIP: Patrick’s grandfather, James Wilson, was born in Cork City.

FAST FACTS: Patrick’s favorite baseball player is Mookie Betts and his favorite MLB team is the Boston Red Sox… Patrick will be visiting Ireland in June for the first time… He has cousins in Irishtown, County Mayo… Patrick has always wanted to try Gaelic football and he’d like to teach his cousins in Ireland how to play baseball!
