Irish centerfielder Conor Santoianni has committed to play baseball for Springfield College. Santoianni is currently a senior at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Last summer, Conor Santoianni played for the 18U Irish Junior National Baseball Team. During Ireland’s historic gold medal run, Santoianni played centerfield and batted at or near the top of the lineup in all five games.

To qualify to play for Team Ireland, Santoianni was required to obtain Irish citizenship through ancestry. His maternal grandfather, John Power, was born in Garryduff, County Wexford.

Ireland’s 18U Junior National Baseball Team will compete at this summer’s European A-Pool Championship Tournament in Grosseto, Italy. Due to age restrictions, Santoianni will compete for the Men’s Senior National Team.
